For four weeks in the summer of 2007 I participated in the Site Specific Art Program at the Burren College of Art in Ballyvaughan, Ireland. Ballyvaughan is in County Clare on the west coast. It is a landscape full of oppositions that create its special mystery. Hard limestone mountains contrast with lush green pastures and hedges, rare wildflowers of beautiful colors accent the gray stone, and castles, monastaries, ring forts, and roofless houses rise out of the earth just as they are sinking back into it. It was a fruitful time that culminated in a group exhibition - my first international show.
